In collage I sample images from domestic magazines, National Geographic, men's magazines, google searches and my own photographs in supermarkets and gardens. Through finding, reshaping, assembling and reassembling, I seek uncanny forms. "I have never seen this before, but it is something I know in my body," is my affirmation. Then, I trace the collage onto acetate and project it onto a canvas. I have to trace it once more using a brush and paint. Through the visceral painting process, the figure takes on new meaning. The paint unifies her and she begins to breathe her own life.
